About Me and My Practice

And yes I refer to it as a practice. I may not be an MD but I have studied the human body almost a decade now; I have just studied it in a different way. Therefore, just as they practice healing with medicine, I practice healing with other modalities and methodologies.

My formal education consists of many personal training and group fitness certifications through AAAI/ISMA, FiTour/ACE, NASM/The Rush, Aaron Mattes,  and soon to be ACSM. I also have my Bachelor's from Western State Colorado University in Exercise and Sport Science. Before returning to school to finish my Bachelors, however, I went to massage therapy school and immediately following graduation at the Center for Rehabilitative Education (C.O.R.E.) Massage Institute, pursued a 10 month structural re-integration, active release, Active Isolated Stretching, and neuromuscular therapy study.

I worked alongside my school director  and other C.O.R.E. graduates and structural integrators after the school closed in 2009. However, I found my passion as a healer once I began working in chiropractic and sports medicine clinics. It was then I decided to help change the face of Western medicine and physical therapy, especially after all I had personally experienced throughout my life with injuries and pain.

As an athlete growing up and throughout adulthood, I suffered from many injuries and medical conditions over the years, without much relief from traditional medicine. this is what originally led me to pursue a career in exercise and sport sciences. In an effort to pay it forward and educate the public and my patients on self care, I like to focus my practice on sports and medical therapies such as: natural pain relief; corrective therapeutic exercise; athletic recovery and conditioning; sinus, migraine and TMJ dysfunction; and flexibility for injury prevention. Some of my best work has been with golf swings, "frozen shoulder", swimmers, hockey players, dancers and gymnasts.

I am a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and the American College of Sports Medicine. I am currently licensed in California, Colorado and Tennesse. Also, I recently just advanced from Nationally Certified to Board Certified from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. I am currently practicing in Truckee and the North Lake Tahoe area.
